The ETAP has 3 decanters of 20 x 8.75 m, probably the largest in-line sludge decanters in Spain and one of the most demanding installations for a scraper.
Replaced technology: Conventional scraper with GRP rackets and secondary lateral traction by means of a plastic chain.
After less than 7 years of operation and successive breakages, replacements and repairs, the owner decided to replace it with a Wss-Scraper in one of the decanters.
Since it is a first prototype, it is currently in the evaluation period, but after a year in operation the results are totally satisfactory.
The Wss-Scraper works by direct traction, eliminating the power losses associated with secondary transmissions. Likewise, it eliminates friction due to the support and guide elements by sliding, as well as the problems associated with the wear and tear of these elements.
Wss-Scraper, patented by WssDynamics, is the first sludge scraper in the world that operates under a hydrodynamic operating principle, which significantly reduces the number of parts, simplifying its design, improving its reliability, reducing any spare parts and therefore reducing its maintenance costs.
