Reconversions and distribution

In any lamellar settling tank, there are imbalances in the ascending velocities of the effluent throughout the entire installed surface, it is not uncommon to find areas with velocities above 400% of the design velocity. This generates problems like:

  • Preferential high-speed and zero-performance areas with the addition of flocs towards the upper part of the lamellar package.
  • Upper horizontal flows looking for the corresponding part of the evacuation channels generating deposits and premature fouling on the lamellar modules.
  • Zones with very low, null and negative velocities (downward flow).

The unbalance of the ascent speeds in the different areas of the lamellar package is the factor that generates the greatest loss of efficiency and the greatest premature fouling.

WssDynamics® performs a complete study of the effluent dynamics and its behavior inside the tank.

Through solutions that even reach the complete reconversion of the inlet systems, we are able to improve the distribution, inertia control and, ultimately, improve the behavior of the installation.
