Accelator-lamellar hybrid decanter

Project promoted by the R&D department of Canal de Isabel II.
The objective of the project is to study the feasibility and possible improvements in the operation of an accelator-type decanter, through the implementation of WssDynamics lamellar decantation technology. The installation was carried out in a decanter with a diameter of 46 m and a nominal design flow of 1,000 l/s. Current limitations on the use of polyacrylamides limited their maximum treatment flow to 750l/s.s

The settler was put into service on February 15, 2024 and a complete study is currently being carried out on its operation, efficiency, maximum treatment flow rates, functional improvements in the sand filters and improvements in the quality of the treated water, maintenance required, etc…
The study will continue until the end of 2024, but the data collected to date with treatment flows higher than nominal indicate exceptional results in all aspects considered in the project.
