A pile is always a useful source of information when designing or sizing an installation. It’s not always easy to pull off, especially when it’s a new-build plant.
In plants in operation where an expansion of capacity through the installation of lamellae is proposed, or a change of the existing technology with the aim of improving its performance, piloting is a more viable option.
The reality is that very few previous tests or pilots are carried out and if they are carried out, a small modular decanter is used. A modular decanter gives very valid but limited information for the following reasons:
- It is not possible to reproduce the inertias present in tanks, existing or future.
- It is not easy to establish a clear comparison with the technology in operation and subject to possible replacement.
WssDynamics® has carried out several pilot studies carried out in the decanter tank itself, operating under real operating conditions and where the results offer very accurate global and comparative data.
